Operator verification methodology

We cross-reference operators listed in this directory against official aviation authority registers. This page explains what that means, how we do it, and what we do not claim.

Last updated:

What this directory is

Private Jet Directory (PrivateJetDirectory.io) is an independent directory and information service for private aviation. We are not an aircraft operator, air carrier or charter broker. We do not sell or arrange flights, and we do not receive commission on bookings. When a visitor sends an enquiry, it is forwarded to relevant operators or brokers who deal with that person directly.

What "verified" means

A listing marked Verified means that we have looked up the operator by name in at least one official aviation authority register and confirmed that an active entry exists. We record:

  • The name of the register (e.g. FAA Part 135, UK CAA AOC, EASA Part-AOC).
  • The certificate or approval number exactly as it appears in that register.
  • A direct link to the operator's entry on the register where the register supports deep links.
  • The date on which we confirmed the entry.

Verification is a snapshot check performed by our team at the time of data import. It is not a live or automated feed. Registers are updated by the relevant authority; we are not responsible for changes made after our last check date.

What "listed" means

A listing marked Listed (without a verified badge) means the operator appears in our directory but has not yet been cross-referenced against an official register. It may be a business that has submitted its own listing, a provider mentioned in our editorial guides, or an operator we have identified from public information. A listed status makes no verification claim.

Registers we use

We currently cross-reference against the following official registers:

FAA Part 135 (United States)

The US Federal Aviation Administration Air Carrier Certificate database lists operators authorised to conduct commercial air taxi and charter operations under 14 CFR Part 135. Issued certificate numbers follow the format XXXXXX135X. The public search tool is available at amsrvs.registry.faa.gov .

UK CAA Air Operator Certificate (United Kingdom)

The UK Civil Aviation Authority publishes a searchable list of holders of Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) issued under UK aviation law. AOC holders are authorised to conduct commercial air transport, including private charter. The register is available at siteapps.caa.co.uk .

EASA Part-AOC (European Union and associated states)

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency maintains a register of organisations approved under EASA Part-AOC to conduct commercial air transport, including charter, in EASA member states. The register is available at easa.europa.eu .

How often we verify

We verify operators when their data is first imported into the directory. We aim to re-check existing verified listings periodically, typically every six to twelve months, though we make no guarantee of a specific refresh cadence. The date of the most recent check is shown on each verified operator's profile. If you notice an entry that appears to be inaccurate or out of date, please contact us.

What verification does not mean

A verified listing confirms only that we found a matching entry in an official register at the time of our last check. It does not mean:

  • That the operator is currently trading or accepting bookings.
  • That their certificate has not lapsed, been suspended or revoked since our check.
  • That they are suitable for any particular flight or route.
  • That Private Jet Directory endorses, recommends or has any commercial relationship with them.

You should always verify the status of any operator directly with the relevant authority before booking.

Claimed versus unclaimed listings

Operators may claim their listing on this directory and update their own profile information. A claimed listing is indicated by a separate badge on the profile. Claimed status is independent of verified status: an operator can be verified without having claimed their listing, and vice versa. Profile content added by the operator themselves has not been independently verified by us.

Liability disclaimer

Private Jet Directory provides directory and information services only. We do not represent any operator, hold any aviation licence, or carry any liability for flights arranged between visitors and providers. Enquiries submitted through this site are passed to third-party providers who deal with visitors directly and are solely responsible for their services. Always confirm an operator's current regulatory status before entering into any agreement.

Questions or corrections

If you are an operator and believe your listing contains incorrect information, or if you are a user who has identified a discrepancy, please use our contact page to let us know. We take data accuracy seriously and will investigate promptly.

About this directory

Private Jet Directory (PrivateJetDirectory.io) is an independent directory and information service for private aviation. It is not an aircraft operator, air carrier or charter broker. It does not sell or arrange flights, and it does not receive commission on bookings. When a visitor sends an enquiry, it is forwarded to relevant operators or brokers who deal with that person directly.

Coverage at a glance

All figures are as of 5 November 2026. Counts reflect entries in the live directory.

  • 26+ aviation businesses listed, including operators, brokers, FBOs, MROs, and concierge services.
  • 20+ charter routes covering the UK, Europe, Middle East, and North America, each with typical flight times, distances, and aircraft used.
  • 14+ aviation hub cities with primary and alternative business-aviation airports.
  • Airport search data (names, codes, cities and coordinates used in airport fields and route maps) comes from OurAirports, a public-domain open dataset. City choices group listed airports only; we add no codes or coordinates of our own.
  • 7 aircraft categories and 15+ specific aircraft models, with passenger capacity, range, speed, and cabin dimensions.
  • 7+ editorial guides and blog posts covering charter costs, aircraft selection, routes, and destination guides.
  • No live empty-leg inventory is currently listed. Read about empty legs and register interest.

Operator data: sources and collection

Operator profiles are compiled from three sources:

  1. Self-submitted listings. Operators and brokers may submit their own profile via the List your business page. Self-submitted data is not independently verified unless the operator requests formal register verification.
  2. Public information. Some listings are created from publicly available information (company websites, industry directories, news sources). These carry no verification claim and are marked as "Listed".
  3. Register verification. A subset of operators is cross-referenced against an official aviation authority register by the Private Jet Directory team. These are marked "Verified".

Registers used for verification

CAA source snapshot and profile claims

Our UK AOC data uses the official CAA holders of Air Operator Certificates list dated 2 November 2026. Profiles retain the AOC number and aircraft types exactly as supplied in that source. An aircraft type in a list is not evidence of fleet size, ownership, registration, payload or availability. Links to our aircraft pages are explanatory comparisons, not inventory.

A sourced profile starts unclaimed and unverified. Approval makes a listing public, but does not award independent verification. A representative may request control using the profile's claim link. Mailbox verification, profile claims and operational verification are separate steps. Review checks for obvious duplicates and missing information; it does not invent a fleet, rating or business history. Paid visibility is labelled Featured or Sponsored and does not constitute endorsement.

FAA Part 135 (United States)

The US Federal Aviation Administration Air Carrier Certificate database lists operators authorised to conduct commercial air taxi and charter operations under 14 CFR Part 135. Public search tool: amsrvs.registry.faa.gov .

UK CAA Air Operator Certificate (United Kingdom)

What "Verified" and "Listed" mean

A listing marked Verified means a member of the Private Jet Directory team looked up the operator by name in at least one official register above and confirmed an active entry exists at the time of the check. We record: the register name, the certificate or approval number, a link to the operator's entry where the register supports deep links, and the date of the check.

A listing marked Listed carries no register-verified claim. The operator appears in the directory from self-submitted or public information only.

Full verification process documentation: Operator verification methodology.

Data refresh cadence

Register verification checks are performed when operator data is first imported. Existing verified listings are re-checked periodically, typically every six to twelve months, though there is no fixed automated cadence. The date of the most recent check is shown on each verified operator profile.

Route and city data is reviewed and updated when new routes are added to the directory or when known information changes. Aircraft specifications are sourced from manufacturer published data and are updated when specifications change.

Empty-leg listings are submitted directly by operators and are marked with their departure date. Expired listings are removed automatically.

Indicative cost calculation and rate provenance

The cost calculator, cost guide and public embeds use one editable configuration. The GBP per occupied hour bands below use LunaJets and Fliteline sources, reviewed 6 November 2026. They are indicative planning ranges, not a market average or available supplier quotations.

For listed city pairs, the calculator uses the existing route guide's approximate duration and distance, including the reverse pair where necessary. Those are editorial planning inputs, not live operational estimates, and category speed differences, wind and routing are not modelled. If no route estimate exists, the visitor must enter flight hours. We do not invent city coordinates or silently supply a generic duration.

The passenger ceiling and distance screen use typical category seats and the lower end of the published class range band. They are preliminary filters only, not full-payload range calculations. In manual-hours mode only seating is screened; range is not assessed. The carrier must check the actual configuration, baggage, payload, winds, routing, reserves, runway and any fuel stop.

How the estimate works

Occupied flight hours multiplied by a published indicative aircraft-category hourly range. Return means two equivalent occupied sectors, not an all-inclusive return quotation.

Category screening checks planning seats and, for listed routes only, planning range. It never confirms that an aircraft is available.

Route times and distances come from our existing editorial route guides, using the reverse pair when needed. The same approximate time is used for every category; aircraft speed, wind and actual routing are not modelled. Where no route estimate exists, enter your own hours.

Planning seat and range limits are initial screens, not full-payload guarantees. Actual seating, baggage, payload, wind, reserves and runway suitability require operator assessment. Manual hours screen passengers only, not route range.

What is excluded

Positioning, minimum billing, landing and handling fees, parking, crew waiting and overnight costs, catering, de-icing, taxes and duties are excluded.

LunaJets hourly rates from 2025 bookings (converted to GBP 7 Oct 2026) and Fliteline UK rate guide (4 Aug 2026). Reviewed 6 Nov 2026. Methodology.

PrivateJetDirectory.io is an independent directory and information service. We are not an aircraft operator, air carrier or charter broker, and we do not sell or arrange flights. Enquiries are shared with relevant third-party providers who deal with you directly.

Each result shows its hourly range and entered or estimated time. Subtotals are rounded to whole pounds only after multiplication. Return means twice the unrounded occupied-sector subtotal. HMRC's APD guidance and VAT Notice 744A explain why taxes cannot be represented by a universal add-on. Review dates record actual editorial checks and do not advance with unrelated builds.

  • Verification is a point-in-time snapshot. A verified listing confirms a register entry existed at the time of our last check. Certificates may lapse, be suspended, or be revoked after that date.
  • Self-reported fields are not independently verified. Fleet size, services offered, year established, and similar fields on self-submitted listings reflect information provided by the operator. We do not independently verify these claims.
  • Coverage is not exhaustive. The directory does not claim to list every private aviation business globally. Focus is on the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
  • Pricing is indicative only. Any prices shown on the site are indicative estimates. Actual pricing is confirmed by the operator or broker when they respond to an enquiry.
  • Some regions are underrepresented. Register coverage is strongest for FAA, UK CAA, and EASA jurisdictions. Operators in other regions may appear as Listed without register verification.
